Love is in the air...and a brownie recipe!

Love is in the air....la la la

Chef Cheryl of the Cowbell Kitchen is cooking up some super easy and super delicious brownies.

Bake some love for all your favorite v-day peeps!   Get creative & cut'em into heart shapes or just dust with powdered sugar, serve them up fancy pants a-la-mode style, sprinkle some sea salt on top, maybe drizzle with chocolate or caramel sauce or heck pour some Bailey's over them!
Be adventurous in the kitchen and make something homemade to end your valentines day with a simple but delicious sweet touch!


Here's the recipe...

Outrageous Brownies
{from Ina Garten}


Ingredients
  • 1 lb unsalted butter
  • 1 lb plus 12 oz semisweet chocolate chips
  • 6 oz unsweetened chocolate
  • 6 extra large eggs
  • 3 T instant coffee granules
  • 2 T pure vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 1/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 T baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 cups chopped walnuts 


Preparation
  • Preheat oven to 350
  • Butter & flour 12 x 18 x 1 baking sheet.
  • Melt together butter, 1 lb choc chips and unsweetened choc in medium bowl over simmering water.
  • Allow to cool slightly.
  • In a large bowl, stir (do not beat) together eggs, coffee granules, vanilla & sugar.
  • Stir the warm choc mixture into the egg mixture and allow to cool to room temp.
  • In a medium bowl, sift together 1 cup flour, baking powder and salt.
  • Add to cooled chocolate mixture.
  • Toss walnuts and 12 oz of choc chips in a medium bowl with 1/4 cup flour, then add to choc batter.
  • Pour into prepared baking sheet
  • Bake for 20 minutes, then rap the baking sheet against the oven shelf to force air to escape from between the pan and the brownie dough.
  • Bake for 15 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Do not over bake.
  • Allow to cool thoroughly.
  • Cut into 20 large squares.
