Giveaway Mondays...crown centerpiece

Win this for someone you care about!
We all need to kick the week off on a happy note so here we go..

Last week we did a giveaway through Miss Mustard Seed's blog, called Pay It Forward.   Readers wrote in and told us why someone special in their life deserved something to brighten their day from our online store. The response was very moving, and made me realize that we would love to incorporate more things like this into our blog.

So this week we will be giving away the most sought after item from that post our “Crown Centerpiece”. Please leave us a comment and let us know someone in your life who needs to be reminded they are special and should be treated royally.

We’ll announce the winner on Monday, January 14 on our blog.

"From what we get, we can make a living,
what we give however, makes a life.”

Have a great week everybody, we look forward to hearing from you!

  1. Oooooh! I'd give this to my best friend, Lou Ann. She is going through a difficult time right now and I'd love to remind her that she is the daughter of a King....

  2. My sister in law is in need of something to brighten her day. She actually came to your store two weeks ago and that helped to lift her spirits because she loves checking everything out. Thanks so much!

  3. I would share this with my mom. She grew up watching "Queen for a Day" and dreaming of someday being transformed. She is the hardest working and most fearless woman I have ever known. She is also kind to a fault. I would use this to remind her that she doesn't need a game show to be made queen. She is always my queen and my best friend.

  4. I would love to win this for a friend. She is truly devoted to all of her close girlfriends. Last year she faced some hard family issues and lost her father unexpectedly. I only hope when she needed me most I was there for her like she has been there for me so many times over the past 15 years. I want to give her the royal treatment and best wishes for a much better 2013. Plus, she loves all things royal (her father was British) and the crown is definitely her style. She loves a "perky pick-me-up" and is always giving her friends fun little gifts when she sees something that suits our style. Thanks for considering. Friends like her are a true gift. Rebecca

  5. I would give this to my friend Heidi. A year ago Christmas, her family was "downsized" despite her dedication to keep that from happening. She is raising three children (13, 12, 3) and preparing to start her life over. While British, she will be staying stateside with the kids to let them have what they know. Unfortunately, it means a move away from the DC area (and me), but with her moxie she'll be fine. She has started her own business from home (Moxie Crumpet) with inspirations from places like Lucketts/Leesburg. A master at the table saw, Annie Sloan paint, and staining, she has come a long way. She also is taking care of an elderly neighbor. The biggest problem? She forgets to take care of herself, and I think the crown would help remind her of that.

  6. My younger sister. She drew the short straw (being the only associate in her new law firm) and HAD to work during the Christmas holiday, even working through the night on multiple days, missing the family Christmas in Roanoke (our younger brother flew in from San Francisco and since moving we barely ever see him, now!). She's been very angry and depressed, lately, and I hope that something cute like this could remind her that life is sometimes not all about the doom and gloom.

  7. I would love to give this to my friend Sandi- Her Sister passed away the Saturday before Christmas.....and so, Christmas was weary. I would love for her to know how special she is...plus she has a guest room using crown accents.
Thank you for such an awesome giveaway.

  8. My sister-in-law is so deserving of a special gift. She takes care of her mother (also my husband'). Their mom is in a nursing home and can be very grumpy at times. Sometimes she forgets who we all are. She can be sweet but also very mean. But my SIL just takes it in stride. She tried to be at the nursing home once a day at meal time so she can feed her.
My SIL just retired at an early age. She does something every day to help others. She has worked for the Chamber of COmmerce, Humane Society, her church and the list goes on. She went with her church for a week to help restore areas that suffered from tornados. Recently she had to bathe 19 large dogs to get them ready to transport to another area so they could be adopted.
When it was snowing recently she even went to see my mother to see if she needed anything.
She never complains or expects anything in return. She is very deserving.

  9. My daughter-in-law needs a crown. She has a very full plate in her life right now. She was diagnosed with chronic Lyme Disease last month and will begin heavy duty treatments later this month. Her tiredness and exhaustion make it difficult for her to do much during the day and she doesn't sleep well at night. To top that off, her 8-year-old daughter may also have a bad case of Lyme Disease (testing begins on her and her brother in a few weeks)and has serious trouble with severe anxiety, anger, acting out and possibly seizures. So my DIL has to deal with that as well when she is feeling terrible herself. My heart breaks because I don't live close and can drive over to help out. My DIL deserves a crown because of her good attitude and loving care of her daughter while feeling overwhelmed. She would feel empowered and uplifted and ready to carry on with this crown that represents hope and promise of great things to come. Thanks so much for offering this giveaway.

  10. I would give this beautiful "CROWN" to our daughter, Stephanie.....(and by the way, her name, Stephanie actually means crowned-one)!!! Today, January 7th when I saw your "crown story give-a-way", had to think of her, because it is actually her birthday, and she turns 34 yrs. old today. Our daughter has always demonstrated growing up, a "selfless" heart for others. I remember the time, she traveled to a third world country, not knowing a soul till she met up with other volunteers thru Human Needs Global Resouces to help girls taken off dangerous streets, and whose families were torn apart by AIDS, etc., and live and help them for 6-months when she was a college 21-yr.old. She saw that they got to school (the only volunteer at the time w/a driver's license) and she vowed, and helped show through, I believe, her leadership a better life is attainable. She today has her own family, husband and three beautiful little ones, and demonstrates, and always stands for family values and principles to make a better world.

  11. I would give this to my sweet daughter who has just finished college and is out in this BIG world trying to find a job (not as easy as it was 10 years ago). I would like for her to know that all her hard work in college was for a good reason.

    Blessings,
    Linda

  12. My mother, Carol Anne, is the queen in my life. Although she is still receiving treatment after breast cancer surgery, my mother, at age 76, got on a plane last month and flew across the country to come and take care of me, while I was recovering from surgery. She kept me company and made her famous homemade macaroni and cheese when I could eat again. I would love to send her a crown...she would be happily surprised!

    Kindly,
    Michele

  13. How do you pick someone, everyone is deserving of a crown in their lives. I couldn't pick just one person. We have so many people in this world who impact us each and every day. As I write this, the families of those lost in the Sandy Hook tragedy come to mind, not to slight all the other tragedies that cause so many to wear a crown each day of their lives forever impacted.
Also many who I don't even know deserve crowns for their accomplishments in their lifetime. Too many to mention. Crowns for them too.
I mean not to slight anyone. A crown is something that any one person can wear at a given time in their lives. Wearing one is but a showing of accomplishment, strength and love.
    Fondly,
    Sandi

  14. When I saw your giveaway, I knew I had to enter; mainly because of the item itself. The daughter of a dear friend of mine is going through a very difficult time right now. This past year, as a newly married bride, she and her husband took a summer job over 2000 miles away from their families. Shortly after arriving for their work, he abandoned her there, leaving their short marriage (though they had dated for years) and his wife in an unfamiliar place with no support around her. She was devastated, though bravely fulfilled her commitment to her work. She is back home now and going through a very tough time as they go through the process of divorce. She needs to be reminded that she is a princess... a daughter of THE KING... treasured and loved. He will never leave her nor forsake her. I thought seeingt this crown each day might remind her of that.

Thank you for the chance to win this, to bring encouragement to a young woman who will be blessed by your kindness.

  15. I think my aunt Barbara totally deserves a crown! In the past year, she's become a breast cancer survivor, went through a divorce, and buried her mother. It's been nothing short of a year from hell, yet she is able to keep positive and see the silver lining in everything that comes her way. A crown is just the thing to applaud her bravery and positive attitude!

  16. I think my beautiful mother deserves to be reminded she is still queen bee in our family. the past three years have been very hard for her she had to have her colon removed, she is anxiously waiting a heart transplant, and she lost her very best friend to a heart attack. She is my very best friend and means the world to me

  17. I would it give that centerpiece to mother because she does so much for the whole family, she deserves to feel special herself!

  18. Does it seem selfish to nominate myself? I had twin girls a year ago and have completely lost myself. Before delivering the girls I was a Godly woman who couldn't be stopped. I was close to starting my own ministry for women facing fertility issues and losses. My fertility battle lasted three long years with multiple losses in 2010 on Mothers Day and Christmas Eve. ALthough I have finally been blessed with my two miracle Twincessess, the Process left me emotionally, physically and mentally scarred. I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world, but I would like to find me again. I would love to adorn my room with this beautiful crown to remind myself that I'm not just a wife and mother, I am a princess child of God who deserves to love herself... Sagging stomach, saddle bags and neglected hairy legs and ALL.

  19. After reading the many deserving people above it's difficult to pick just one person. I think we all are nominating amazing and special people. I would like to take the opportunity to nominate my mother. She has done nothing but give to people her entire life. Anytime someone needed help, advice or just a shoulder to cry on, she was always there. Even more so, I am fortunate enough to call her my mother. She is a loving, God fearing mother. She has endured the stress and pain, for over 10 years now, of watching my younger brother struggle with a heroine addiction. She is in her late 60's and in order to save her 2 grandchildren she took them under her wing and cared for them until their father (my brother) was well enough to resume his parental role. She not only cared for her grandchildren but, she continued to maintain a full-time job in order to support them. She has witnessed my brother almost die, on more than one occasion and still stood as the rock and glue of our family. I want her to know how much she is loved and appreciated. She is undoubtedly a queen and I would love to have the opportunity to crown her!

  21. My friend Stephanie is waging a huge battle for her life against horrible odds. The chemo is making her so very ill, but she keeps going because she is determined to live to raise her 2 young daughters. I would love to give her this crown to show her how special and brave I think she is.

My daughter in law - She is a "Step-Mom" to 2 of my grandchildren and "birth Mom" to one - You would never know which ones were which - She's marvelous -- She deserves the crown.

  23. I would love to give this to my daughter. She has a had a rough time with bullying in middle and high school, to the point that we had to change schools. Things are better, but those rough times really did a number on her self esteem. She has such low self confidence, and we are working hard to build that back up in her. She is 15, and should be on top of the world not feeling like she doesn't matter at school. I would like to give this to her so that she has a daily reminder that she is God's Princess. Being God's Princess it will remind her that if God brings you to it, He will carry you through it.

  24. This would be an awesome surprise for my mom when she gets out of rehab next week. She fell on New Year's Day and had a stroke. She has been in the hospital and hopefully will leave rehab next Friday.
She is a mom of three and a Nanny to 10- she has led such a full life of blessing others - laying up many treasures in heaven- but she would be tickled with a crown for herself. Thank you.

  25. I would give it to my 12 year old niece. Being a preteen is always hard. She lives with her Dad and her Mother lives six hours away. I think young women need to know that they are always a princess no matter what happens in life.

  26. Wow, so many stories of hardships. So many people above deserve this crown. I would give this to my friend's daughter - Hannah. On December 26th Hannah turned 21 - on December 27th, she was in a serious car accident here in Raleigh, NC. She fractured both femurs, wrists, ribs & pelvis - plus several other injuries. I went to see her yesterday in the hospital. She's definitely not herself, and has a long road to recovery. If nothing else, please pray for Hannah if she comes to mind.

  27. This is such a great idea!! my best friend Josie introduced me to your store several years ago. 1 year ago she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She is a nurse, a mom and a wonderful friend. She has "fought like a girl". Through chemo, radiation, losing her hair, etc she still has gone to work and taken care of her patients and kept a smile on her face. I think she would really love this and deserve it!!

  28. i don't care if i win this contest, but it would be an added bonus, after seeing all fo these stories i don't think i deserve it, but i do wish to tell a story about my humble grandmother who through so many hardships in her life has raised my mother and her 7 sisters and is still one of the most kindest beings i have ever met, she might not be as forthcoming as most of us or as modern but she deserves a crown to remind her that after all of these years she has people who still love her and would give her a crown to remind her she is the queen and we are all her humble followers, best regards to the winner. :D
