Store to Abode Fridays #4 - dough bowls

It's my favorite day of the week - Friday!  Coincidentally the Design House will be open too - 10 to 5 today as well as Sat. and Sun.  Sounds like a perfect start to the weekend.

For Store to Abode Fridays, we're taking something in our store and showing you how to use that item in your home.

We're celebrating the lovely and rustic dough bowl today.  We've seen them filled with sea shells, books, holiday greenery, and even toys!  Here are a few of our favorites...

So here is our inspiration item from The Old Lucketts Store...

...and here are some inspirational decorating ideas featuring dough bowls!

{1} This dough bowl looks beautiful with a bundle of lavender.  This is courtesy of Miss Mustard Seed who has a space in the store on the first floor.  Love how you can see the carving and texture on the underside in this picture.

{2}  Love the moss-filled bowl in this picture and all of the green.  A great look for springtime.

{3}  Love how this circular dough bowl is filled with antique fishing floats.  We actually have a nice larger green fishing float in the store right now - sigh.  {Here's a beautiful blog post just on fishing floats if you're interested}

{4}  A really pretty composition.   The folding chair really gives you a sense of how big these bowls can get.

{5} And finally a bread bowl with an actual bread product inside.

  1. I purchased a HUGE dough bowl at an auction in Canada about 4-5 years ago. Your post has inspired me to try something new with it! Thanks!
