Sneak Peek: Cheryl's Kitcken Confidential

I'm having fun going through all my pictures to put together a timeline of our kitchen renovation. We have lived in our house for 7 years now and started this project in 2010 and finally we will have a kitchen soon.

Ken and I are both in the food & beverage industry so days off sometimes are non existent and when you are off you can barely function because you just worked 5 12-14 hour days. We are both crazy energetic and love our careers plus adore restoring our home. This is why we are in the 3rd year of this process, not a lot of time. We only hired out the plumbing and have done all the work ourselves. 

What's new this week in store & online!

The summer is a time to wind down a little bit -- the Design House is closed until August, we are concentrating on refilling our spaces and getting reengergized. 

This week, we have a few favorites back in our online store and the shop is full of some great pieces this week.

Oooohhhh Atlanta!

January and July…January and July.

January is the month we purchase next years Christmas items…(see blog post about the Christmas buying), and July is back to Atlanta to find all of our art, accessories, and gift items, to carry us through the fall at the Design House.

It's always fun and exciting to see what new colors are trending and whats new in the marketplace. 

Trending.....

We are seeing wall stencils everywhere.  Who wouldn't love them? If you mess up, you paint over.  It's less expensive than wall paper.  And if you hate it five years down the road, it is an easy fix.  Some wall stencils that we love:

The Look For Less...At Lucketts

Vintage items and looks online have become very popular.  One Kings Lane is a good example of new and old items that are updated daily.  We often check and get excited when we see similar and awesome items that come into the store and happen to be much cheaper.  

July 4th Parties.....

It's officially hot dog and beach season.  These images have us starting the party early!  We hope everyone has a fun holiday week!

Today was a very productive day in the kitchen. I find that I am the happiest and most continent working in that spot. Hours pass without me noticing till I look up at the clock and realize I've been at it for some time. 
 
Good stuff.

The summer months at the farmers markets are crazy good. I have been scoring at the Wednesdays Leesburg Market. Beautiful produce, fruit and super nice vendors.

New online and in the shop this week

We have several new treasures and a few old favorites in our online shop that just arrived this week!

We also have some new treasures at the shop, including a neat Gothic architectural piece, a reclaimed wood farm table, and a HUGE two piece pine hutch!

Monthly outdoor dining series!

In collaboration with Lucketts, the Cowbell Kitchen will be hosting a monthly, outdoor, under the stars, unique dining series which will continue till the weather prevents us.

All the ingredients will be sourced from local farms, markets and artisans.The experience will be staged at various locations on the Lucketts property. The theme & menu, of course is top secret, and will be unveiled the night of. OK, maybe a tiny hint before!

1940 Farmer's Market

This week turned out to be exciting in many ways. 

First I was so lucky to have my two best friends in town for a few days. The days flew by fast but we lazily grilled, drank and spent hours chitchatting on the back porch. 

Our featured cocktail was Gin & Tonic, simple and refreshing! Of course we threw in some wine, Prosecco and beer, for a change of pace!

A few online favorites are back in stock!

One of the challenges of having an online store is balancing order quantities with demand.  We love everything in our online store, but sometimes we're surprised how quickly some items sell out.  Then we're surprised again how difficult it can be to get them back in stock from distributors.

We're happy to report that a few favorites we've been waiting for the online store came in to the warehouse yesterday!
