The Design House is back for August 2, 3 & 4!

We've been prepping, unpacking and planning for the August Design House.

The summer has been a time to relax and recharge.  To get back to what we love --- scoring great furniture and repurposing it, and attending interior design trade shows to get our holiday fix (yes, in July!).

New art arrived this month, and yes, we do have some new horse images!

Paint has been added to a few rooms.  We're are going crisp, clean and neutral.  Unlike a few of the last Design Houses where we brought in color trends on the walls, for August, we're bringing in color with our accessories and keeping the walls mostly neutral with two of Amy's favorites.

Here are a few spaces we're working on this week.

We're currently working on layering this bedroom with tone on tone furnishings.  The curvy headboard, chandelier and bed tent bring in lots of sophistication.

Yes, Amy can't stay away from horse art.  These new images on oversize canvases are stunners!

We love these new mirrored storage units.  They reflect the light and can really brighten up a room.

Old and new - we love to mix old pieces and collections in our spaces.  Check out the sheep canvas.

Diana has been painting away this past week.   Suzanne found some great furniture pieces with caning on the door fronts.  With a contrasting paint to add interest, they came out really well.  Be sure to look for them in the August Design House.

Psssst....Amy has a huge crush {on these two neutrals}

  1. I sooooo wish I could come visit your design house! It is definately on my "design bucket list"! I have a feeling that your store is absolutley jaw dropping in real life. I just had my very first tearfully joyful retail experience here on the west coast. In Santa Cruz, California there is a store that is called "Wisteria Antiques & Gardens"...OMG it isn't just retail, it's an experience! I know your store must be the same. I can't wait to get there someday soon!

  3. Wisteria? That was my haunt when I lived in CA and camped at New Brighton Beach each Memorial Day. Love, Love, Love that place, and now that I live in VA, the Design House fills that bill perfectly. I love the large pieces that have found their way to my home, and now that we have a new office, they are making their way there. So, with a few empty spots recently created, guess where I'll be this weekend!
