Spring visitor

A new visitor made a home in Heather's pavilion this past week.

We're calling her "Lazy Dove" because she decided to nest in a long ago abandoned bird nest in the corner.

She's so much bigger than the nest's previous occupant and hangs off the side of the nest --- she doesn't seem to mind one bit though.

  1. How cute! We had doves nest in an old flower pot one year. We could watch them from the kitchen window. They had two eggs, both hatched (often, only one will) and they grew up to fly away with their parents! It was so great to observe this little bit of nature! Doves always swipe an old nest - they are horrible nest builders themselves, poor things. Hugs, Leena

    1. I didn't realize they are notorious for using old nests. Now I won't call her lazy - she can't help it :)
