Store to Abdoe Fridays #21 - Doors

source:  YoungHouseLove
It's Store to Abode Friday, where we take something we sell at The Old Lucketts Store and give you a few ideas on how to decorate with it in your home.

This week, we're featuring repurposed doors.  For all the DIYers out there, you already know that there is so much you can do with a door besides rehanging it.

Take a look...

Here is my inspiration item from The Old Lucketts Store.  After I saw this door-turned-table Diana had at the shop last year, I had to think about what else old doors could be made in to.

You can really find old doors throughout the shop, but dealer RMB specializes in antique stained glass doors (2nd floor and outside), dealer PJM often has doors and gates to choose from (1st floor and outside), dealers MM and AFS bring in a lot of unique doors (1st floor and outside) and dealer MOMO often has doors against the building outside.

{1}  Here is a nice refinished door turned sideways and made in to a headboard by Martha Stewart.

{2}  Barn doors mounted on a sliding track are are a unique way to provide plenty of privacy for an office for formal living / dining space.

{3}  Some pretty weathered windows used as a backdrop for this pretty bedroom vignette by Alabaster Rose.   The same look can easily be achieved with doors.

{4}  An old door is painted with chalk paint can be embellished with quotes or a to-do list.  The door better defines this space and makes the bathroom seem more intimate.

{5}  This beautiful reclaimed wood table is made from a ship's door (table top) and large pieces of driftwood (table legs) that washed ashore in Maine.  (Notice the door in the corner of the room as well?)

Have a great weekend everyone!

  3. I have been thinking of getting two old doors to put behind each of our two bedside tables (purchased at Lucketts)and hang sconces from (which I will look at Lucketts for) and, of course, my favorite shopping/vintage haunt came to mind! I will have to make a trip out there soon! See you then! Hugs, Leena
