Spring Market 2012 - a few changes you need to know about

We're gearing up for our most exciting event of the year in a little over a week!  {Spring Market is May 19th & 20th}

We have a few changes to parking and pickup that we need all patrons and vendors to be aware of,  so we're trying to get the word out.

{Please note that the following parking and pickup details were dictated to us by the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office in order to help manage traffic to and from the event.  We're in good hands, so please follow their direction...}

FOR EVERYONE
  • The officers know what they are doing to control a safe moving traffic pattern so follow their direction
  • We suggest leaving a tad bit early to get used to the new pattern and not be in a rush
  • Be mindful of walkers in and around the Spring Market

PARKING
  • Northbound traffic on 15 should pay special attention to parking signs & officer directions
  • Northbound traffic on 15 will park at Lucketts Elementary School near the soccer field {until this lot is full}

IF YOU NEED HELP WITH LARGE ITEMS
  • Find the Market Staff {guys with pink shirts} when they are not helping other customers
  • Market Staff will be located at both entrance gates
  • Let them know where you parked so they can bring your items to the correct loading spot

FURNITURE PICKUP - THOSE PARKED AT THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
  1. Find a guy in a pink shirt.  Direct him to the item.  Tell him where you parked so he can bring the item to the correct loading location
  2. Get your car
  3. Follow signs and pull up to the Community Center located across from The Old Lucketts Store and park
  4. Load your large item

FURNITURE PICKUP - THOSE PARKED IN THE MAIN FIELDS
    021
  1. Find a guy in a pink shirt.  Direct him to the item.  Tell him where you parked so he can bring the item to the correct loading location
  2. Get your car
  3. Pull up close to the Fair entrance gate
  4. Load your large item

Again, please note that the parking and pickup details were dictated to us by the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office in order to help manage traffic at and around the event and are out of our {The Lucketts Store Spring Market's} control.

Most importantly, watch out for pedestrian traffic around the Market and follow directions of all Officers and Market Staff in pink shirts!  We cannot wait to see you on the 19th & 20th.  We have so many great vendors lined up this year!!!!

Yours truly in all things Spring Market & parking,

  6. This year will be my first year coming to the spring market (although I've shopped the old lucketts store numerous times) I wanted to know if the vendors will be accepting credit cards? I plan on paying addmission with cash.

    Thanks! Excited for tomorrow!

    1. A few vendors may have a card reader attached to their phones, but I would say that's the exception rather than the rule. You should hit the ATM before you get here.
      See you tomorrow!

  7. Looking forward to today! Are you allowed to have a dog with you as you stroll through the extravaganza?

    Best of luck!

    1. We are asking people to leave their dogs at home this year. If the dog is well behaved and you cannot leave them at home, then it's okay.

  8. Who do the ticket proceeds go to? Hopefully a local charity? Looking forward to a great time!

    1. All entrance fees go to the overhead of putting on a large show like this {the guys to help you move your purchases, the parking staff, police officers, advertising & signs, fair staff, port a johns, permits, rental of lots for parking, mowing fields, paying the band, etc. and even crazy things like fencing, trash bags, & truckloads of gravel}. Most people don't know that shows like this take almost a full year of planning and cost tens of thousands of dollars to put on.
