A paint update

We know there are lots of anxious fans awaiting Miss Mustard Seed's paint line.

Last month, we posted about Marian's paint line {you can read about it here}.

We are expecting to get our paint shipments at The Old Lucketts Store in early August.

Yes, there have been some production delays {as is fairly common with any new product}, and Marian has been navigating the world of product development, production, and marketing.  Lots of decisions, contracts with distributors, and approving graphics for product labeling.

We wanted to show you three more colors in Marian's line --- flow blue, typewriter black, and Lucketts green.  Since we've been getting questions, I added in a picture of her antiquing wax below  --- so yes, don't worry, she will offer other painting supplies aside from the milk paint itself.

I can't believe Marian decided to immortalize our shop with its very own color - Lucketts green - after the color of our building!  We are very appreciative and thankful.
Good taste in color by the way, Marian : )

Here were four colors Marian previewed on her blog last month, which we also highlighted in this post.  All I can say is WOW!

Thankfully Marian has been keeping her hungry milk paint fans at bay with some great videos.  If you're not sure why there is such a big buzz about milk paint or how she uses it, you can check out some of her videos {linked here}.

What's your favorite color in Marian's milk paint line?  What will you be painting with your first can of Miss Mustard Seed's Milk Paint?

  1. I can't wait- I'm like a little kid waiting for this!! I'm already looking around my house wondering what I can paint next. I love all the colors so far, but I think the Luckett's Green will be perfect for my very dark cherry wood bedroom furniture. After adding green to my home in places, I've realized that it does coordinate with much more than I would have thought. Plus it will remind me of my favorite place to spend time- browsing through Luckett's for a good find!

  2. I absolutely love Lucketts Green and I have an old dresser and mirror from an auction that I have been patiently waiting to paint this color. There are so many that I love but most of all is the Lucketts Green and Mustard Seed. The dresser is currently a old yellowish color and I thought to paint it back to yellow but when I saw her dresser with the Lucketts Green I knew that was the one I wanted for this dresser. Can't wait!

    1. Love the green too! I loved the post she did with that dresser & beautiful cow painting. I loved the dresser in person too, so I think your dresser & mirror will look fantastic too.

  3. Lucketts Green or Miss Mustard Yellow will be my first purchase. -- I think it will add a new dimension to my living room armoire!
I recently visited Lucketts traveling from the beach back to my home in Pennsylvania. What a treat! The detour was well worth it. My husband even commented that the afternoon we spent in Leesburg was one of the most enjoyable of the week. Thank you!!

  9. I would like to paint a dresser the french enamel, its has been painted. I can use this paint over other paints correct? Will it hold up to a teenager knocking it a little?

    1. Anonymous: Per Marian "You can paint a lot of surfaces with it, but it does not have the adhesive qualities of Chalk Paint. If you add the bonding agent, though, it can adhere to non-porous surfaces like painted finishes, metal, etc."

I would add the bonding agent if the teenager is rougher with the furniture and you don't want the "chippy" look Marian has on many of her pieces.

  10. Will I be able to buy the antiquing wax on line? Need it for a piece that just needs to not be so bright!
