I wanted to do a quick post to introduce a few of Marian's - Miss Mustard Seed's - new paint colors that will soon be displayed in The Old Lucketts Store lobby.
For those of you who already follow Marian's DIY blog, you may have heard about the process she is undergoing to choose and create new colors for her paint line. She's been very open about the whole process, which has been really fun to read about.
Miss Mustard Seed's Milk Paint will feature 12 colors, each designed and tested by Marian herself. Here is a sneak peek of a few:
Which one is your favorite?
Marian has posts up on her blog with lots of eye candy for each of these new colors, so be sure to check out her posts about tricycle red, shutter gray, French enamel blue, and mustard seed yellow.
The milk paint comes in a powder form {yay no heavy cans!} and is mixed with water. Marian will also be selling companion products - wax, antiquing wax, bonding agent, crackle medium & hemp oil - in her new space in the Lucketts Store lobby in July. The paint will then be available online and at 50-75 other retail locations across the US, Canada & the UK in late July / early August.
Oh, and don't worry if you're new to the whole painting thing, the girl's got you covered. Marian will be posting video tutorials so everyone can learn how to use her milk paint and secrets to getting her signature look.
That's a very quick overview. I'll post more pictures as Pete and Marian switch spaces and move their goodies. Right now, there is a healthy dose of brainstorming, collaboration, and diagramming out each space. This is gonna be so much fun to see!
* Note all pictures in this post are original photos or were adapted from images on the Miss Mustard Seed blog - with permission of course!
This gal really rocks and you are so lucky to have her in your shop. What an added bonus to an already charming store. I'm looking forward to trying out her paint.

How soon can we order the paint. Do you know how much it will be. I am waiting on the tricycle for a special project. Thanks.

DeleteIt will be available at Lucketts first (July after Marian switches her room). If you are not local, the official launch will happen the end of July or early August and will be available online and at about 50-75 retail locations in the US, Canada & the UK. The online store is not up for ordering yet, but when it's up (late July or early August), you can visit missmustardseedmilkpaint.com.
The MSRP for a quart of paint is $22.
Guess I better start planning another trip to Virginia! Can't wait to check out the new paint. I'm a die-hard Annie Sloan fan, but I'm gonna give this a try since I know Marion also loves AS paint. You can never have enough paint and supplies!
